Tutorial: Manage Members
This tutorial covers how to manage members and teams within your organization.
Prerequisites: You must be an admin of an organization.
Viewing members
- Open your organization.
- Click the Members tab.
You'll see everyone in the organization with their role. Admins and coordinators can open this tab; only admins can change anything in it.
Adding a member
- In the Members tab, click Add member.
- Enter the email address of the person. They must already have a Zelo account.
- Select a role: Admin or Coordinator.
- Click Add member. They join right away.
If no account uses that email, or the person is already a member, the dialog tells you and stays open. There are no email invitations yet.
Changing a member's role
- Find the member in the list.
- Pick the new role in the Role dropdown next to their name.
| Role | What changes |
|---|---|
| Admin | Full control — can add/remove members, change roles, manage the organization |
| Coordinator | Can create and manage events: registrations, teams, shifts and timesheets |
Promoting someone to Admin gives them full control over the organization, including the ability to remove other admins.
The organization's only admin can't be demoted: the dropdown is disabled until there is a second admin.
Removing a member
- Find the member in the Members tab.
- Click Remove next to their name and confirm.
The member loses access to the organization immediately and gets a notification. You can't remove yourself, and the only admin can't be removed.
Creating teams
Teams help you organize volunteers within an event.
- Open an event.
- Go to the Teams tab.
- Click New team and give it a name.
- Add registered volunteers to the team by selecting them from the registrations list.
